Healthy Time

BOO to having a hyper-thyroid. I've recently come to the conclusion that I must cut the following out of my life:

SAD DAY!! First of all, I love salt. I crave it all day long. Sometimes I eat chips and salsa just to pour salt all over one little chip and eat it, then repeat. And I also love Dr. Pepper. Always have, always will, NUFF SAID. No wonder I have an over-active thyroid...salt and caffeine are the WORST for people with hyper-thyroidism. It makes my metabolism go cRaZy. Like way too crazy. Luckily, in a few weeks I get to take a lovely little iodine pill that gets rid of my over active thyroid for good. But still...I need to cut a few things out of my diet to get all healthy. Or as the hubs says: "get my body ready for baby making". Um scary?

J.E.W.

J.E.W. (aka Jimmy Eat World). These guys have been playing on my ipod NON-stop. At home, in the car, at work and even in the shower. My re-found obession for them started when I purchased tickets for their show here at the Marquee Theater next month. I cannot explain how EXCITED I am for this show. I am literally counting down until Oct. 30th. I have been going to their shows since 8th grade and have not missed one since. The last one at Marquee (11th grade) was epic. If you were to ask who my favorite band is, it's them. LOVE them. Not so much their new stuff...but their old music, especially Clarity...epic. I hear their music and so many GREAT memories come back to me.

I am even more excited because I finally get to go to one of their concerts with my LOVE (aka my concert buddy aka Owen). We have always talked about going to a J.E.W. concert together and how fun it would be. We went to one in Utah before we were even together and it was pretty lame...so it does not count. I love how Owen loves them as much as I do. I love that we finally get to go together. SO if you love them too, COME! We have already recruited a nice size group to go, so the more the better.

North Shore Vacation

**warning: picture overload**

Owen and I finally took our trip to Hawaii for a week. It was something we always wanted to do together so we were stoked when we finally got to go! We were able to stay with some of Owen's family friends, the Gibsons, on the North Shore. We went to the beach, ate lots of food and went to the beach some more. It was so fun to see all of the places Owen always talked about since he lived there with his fam. We got to see the homes he lived in, his old high school and his favorite beaches. And I finally got to meet his friends that lived there too. We loved it! Hopefully one day we can find an excuse to live there...

Hanging out at Waimea Bay (my favorite beach)

Laie Temple
We happened to go while the temple was being renovated so we weren't able to go in. Bummer. But hopefully next time!

Driving up the coast to Waikiki Beach

Shopping at Waikiki

Sea Turtles! Loved them...they were HUGE!

Beach Time

Yummm...Giovanni's Shrimp Shack

I could've eaten these yummy guys all day long

Waves at Pounders
...and that's Owen jumping into the water...so cute

On the 31st was Owen's birthday. We spent the day on the beach, of course. We hung out at Turtle Bay for a while and cruised around. Owen got a tad bit sun burnt surfing the day before so we couldn't spend too much time in the sun this day. Kinda sad...but still a good day

We came home to this lovely birthday cake. Thanks again Gibsons!

We ended his birthday eating our Taco Bell dinner on The Pointe watching the waves and listening to the radio. And other stuff. It was a good night.

Matsumoto Shave Ice. Yummm

The view from the Gibson's back porch

So that is our Hawaii vacation...LOVED IT. Thanks again love for taking me there. We can't wait to go back!
My only complaint: The water was COLD! That or either I'm a wuss. I've always imagined warm tropical waters...but not so much when we were there. AND next time I will bring a good camera so I don't only have my Iphone to take pictures.

The day we got back from Hawaii we left for the beach again. This time, we headed to Rocky Point, Mexico with my family. We stayed at the Sonoran Sun Resort. It was a great way to end our vacation week!

We had a combined birthday party for Owen and I since our birthday are 4 days apart

And I got a Little Mermaid pinata
